My Interview with Mary Bodel, MH

What is your name and/or pen name?

Mary Bodel, MH

What genre do you write?

At the moment I write what is termed apocalyptic science fiction.

What made you want to be a writer?

I grew up in a family of writers and storytellers.  My father says there’s printer’s ink in our blood.  I have written both fiction and nonfiction.  I vastly prefer fiction.

How do you feel about the writing community as a whole?

I have joined a community of writers that is very supportive.  We talk about writing, reading and some of the problems we have ranging from writer’s block to figuring out a tough scene.  I’m glad to be part of it.

Have you or will you be willing to collaborate with other authors in the future?

It’s possible.  It would depend greatly on the project.

Tell us about your book and if it’s upcoming or already published.

I have several books published.  I am currently working on a series called 2090 The New Earth.  Books one through four are published and available both on Kindle and in paperback.

The premise of the series is basically starting over.  People have been placed in cryogenic sleep for an unknown number of years.  The program developers left them tools but not everything they need.  They must form a society and find a way to survive.

Is your book or upcoming book an eBook, paperback, or both?

Both, and the rest of the books in the series will be available in both.  I expect to launch book five in August.

Is this your first book?

No, I’ve been writing books for more than twenty years.  I started publishing on Kindle about five years ago.

Are you planning to write more?

I will most likely write until my fingers cannot push the buttons on the keyboard.

Is there anything you would say to other writers, that want to write and publish a book?

Keep writing.  Learn more about your craft.  There are a lot of free resources now that I didn’t have when I first started.  Read everything, including cookbooks.  As one of my characters says your knowledge is your wealth.

Where can my readers find your book and how they can follow you on social media? Leave only

Links that you want open to the public.

Follow me on Facebook at Here.  It’s a general site, not just for my writing.  I will probably set up an author page but I haven’t done it yet.  The first book of the series can be found Here.  If you look up my name on Amazon you can find the rest of my books, which are on a variety of topics.

Thank you so much Mary for sharing with us. After going over your interview I realized that I knew what apocalyptic science fiction was but I had a hard time describing it. So I researched apocalyptic science fiction and here is the best description I came up with.
